Pillow Covers

Again with the "Living Room Makeover".... We've had the same color scheme for several years now, and 4 years after painting and decorating, Hubby informs me that he doesn't like it. Never has. Fantastic.

(I like the red and orange)

In an effort to have a little change and make Hubby happy, we're painting the red wall he hates and changing other colors in the living room. We're going with a chocolate brown, robins egg blue, and dark orange color scheme.

The pillows on the couch were the first thing to get changed. I got to thinking...isn't a pillow the first thing people sew when LEARNING to sew??? I guess I'm really backwards. I've never sewed a pillow or pillow cover, but now I regret that I haven't been changing our pillows out every season because it's soooooo easy.

I ordered some Oh-So-Beautiful Joel Dewberry prints to make my pillows (and a dress for Gray).

So I made 4 pillow covers to quickly cover our sofa pillows!

They look so cute together. I can't wait to get the wall painted so they really help pull the room together.

They are envelope-style pillow covers, so they sewed up in 5 minutes...and they're washable! Always a great thing with a toddler in the house. Not that she would make a mess or anything.

The more little accents we add to the room, the more I love the change.

  1. I love the orange damask print fabric. Very nice! I've never sewn a pillow cover either. I really need to though. So you say it's easy? I guess I'll try it.

  5. These turned out really great- I love the fabric you chose! Isn't it funny how husbands have opinions about these things and never let you know. My husband moved into my house when we first got married and about a year later he told me that he hated the curtains and pillows in the living room!
    Enjoy the new decor!!
I found you on Sugar Bee Crafts Linky!
