Anthropologie Knock-Off

I love Anthropologie. I love the subject (My minor in college) and I love the store! They have such beautiful things that are so fresh but look amazingly vintage. Unfortunately, geography nor my wallet will let me do much shopping there. The closest one is two hours away and they can be a little pricey.

I was shopping around on their website trying to get inspired the other day, when I came upon this dress. The Meyer Meringue Dress. Ahhhh, so beautiful. I drooled over it for a while, then decided that I needed to have it, or at least something like it.

Here is the Meyer Meringue Dress

I don't do too well sewing with patterns, so I winged this one. A tape measurer and a big piece of paper were my best friends.
And being a good southern girl...I wanted mine to be pink and yellow seersucker!

Here is my version!

I love the long ties and the shirring in the back to make it shapely and easy to wear. It's such a girly dress.

I wore it to church yesterday morning and left it on all day...all the way through our Independence Day Family cookout. There's something to be said about a dress that is THAT easy to wear!

I will be making this dress again and again. Maybe a Maxi/floorlength version. There are so many possibilites with trims and colors and fabrics. I just can't wait to make more!!

I even have enough fabric left over to make my "Mini" a mini-version of the dress. As long as she can't say "No mama"....we're going to be matchers.

  1. Following back! Love this dress! I agree it is nice to have a dress you can wear all day long especially with little ones around. My youngest is 17 months... so trying to get through the day without something on my clothes is a hard thing to do! Look forward to following you! Thanks for stopping by!
