Every now and then, it's good to take a look at the OUTSIDE of your house and see what might need a little updating. I've been really focused on the inside, and have neglected our curb appeal. Hubby usually maintains the outside of the house. Cutting grass is his therapy, so I happily stay out of the way.
I got to looking at our mailbox and decided it needed a facelift. We've had this "M" magnet on it for years and it was starting to fade a little. That, and I was wanting to craft something.
Here is our old mailbox...
After removing the magnet, realizing it had melted itself onto our mailbox, and scrubbing for a very very long time to make it white again....
Here is the new mailbox!
(The palmetto "flag" was on the original mailbox as well. It was a wedding gift from some friends!)
I used my silhouette to cut out the vinyl letters. Instead of a full monogram, Hubby wanted just a big "M" with our name over it. I like the "established" too. It's a reminder of how long we've been together in our home.
It was a much needed facelift for something we drive by every day, but rarely really LOOK at.
A cheap, fast, and effective project. That's the best kind right???
What an incredible make over!!! It looks SO good. I love the palm - if you ever find out where your friends got it, let me know! ;)

Thanks Sheree! The palmetto has been on the mailbox for over 5 years now, so I'm not sure where they would have gotten it! Maybe at a store similar to Palmetto Moon.
