Free Font February: Handwriting Practice

Great fonts don't just have to be for making things pretty (although it helps!!). They can be really useful too! I have been home schooling my 4 year old, getting her ready for school, and we have been working on her handwriting.

These great fonts have been super helpful in her learning how to make letters and write neatly!
We started with her tracing inside of bubble letters, and have moved on to dashed letters on lines.

There are even some for older learners who are starting to learn cursive!

You don't have to have a fancy curriculum or tools to help your child at home. Just some great fonts and a printer!

My computer is filled with some wild and crazy fonts, and I love ALL of them. But sometimes you want something simple, elegant, even plain to finish a project.

Plain fonts don't have to be boring. Here are some of my favorite simple fonts. Pretty, yet completely readable.

I've even used a couple of these for a resume, to give it a girly touch without being unprofessional.

School Days Fonts

Ya'll know I have a serious love of fonts! They make putting together printables, cards, and even blog photos so much prettier and more unique.

On mine and Hubby's last date night we noticed some really awesome chalkboard lettering at our restaurant. I knew I needed to find some chalkboard style fonts for my collection, and I wanted to share my favorites with you! Once I put them together they reminded me of a school chalkboard (do those still exist??) so I called them the "School Days Fonts".

All of these are FREE downloadable fonts. I download most of mine from dafont.

Enjoy adding to your addiction  collection!

Product Review: Cardstore.com

I was recently given the opportunity to make a review a card from Cardstore.com . I LOVE cards, getting them and receiving them. One of my little hoarding secrets is that I've never thrown away a card. Ever. I have a huge drawer full of birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day, whatever-day cards and I love them all.

The lovely people at Cardstore.com told me to run wild with the card and really have fun making it. I didn't know what kind of card to make, but I decided on a "just because" card. I made the card and had it waiting on my parents when they got back from vacation last week.

I made the mistake of browsing through ALL of the cards to find the one I wanted. BIG mistake. Ya'll....if you can't find a card you love from their huge selection, you're just too picky!! They have sooo many cards for all occasions, and they're cute which makes choosing even harder.

I finally decided to make a photo card with the Word Bubble option. I thought it would be cute.

*Note: these pictures do NOT do the card justice. The colors are brilliant and clear!*

Uploading a photo was easy, and adding just the right text was too. There were many options to customize and lots of font selections and colors to choose from.
Ya'll know I love fonts.

Creating the perfect "just because" card, and making it personal didn't take any time at all once I chose the card I wanted. It was easy and fun to make a one-of-a-kind card. Shipping was fast too. I got my card in the mail in just a couple of days.

I am so glad I was introduced to Cardstore.com and allowed to try their cards out. I dread going to the card stores in town these days. Have you ever tried taking a toddler in the card store? They want to touch/read/open everything!!

Now I have a go-to site to get beautiful, personalized cards for all occasions.

Go check them out!

My Favorite Fonts

I have a new obsession that's taking over my computer....FONTS!! I never knew there were literally thousands of fonts waiting to be discovered for me to love. Many fonts on the internet are premium (aka...costly), but I've put together a list of a few of my favorites. Best of all...these are FREE!

A fun font can really spice up a computer project. Whether you're doing a presentation for school or work, using a scrapbooking tool, designing cards, or making vinyl decals, having creative fonts can make a cool project absolutely perfect. Besides, you can only use "Curlz" so many times before you get really sick of the twirly cuteness.

Try one of these fonts for your next project....

I download most of my fonts from Dafont.com . Downloading is easy and your font is ready to use in seconds!

I've printed these images of my fonts out, so I can see what they look like when I'm working on a project. It's easy to find one that's perfect if you can see what the letters look like.
