Obligatory Fall Pictures

It wouldn't be a personal blog without the obligatory family fall photos right???

Fall is my favorite time of year. Football season, leaves changing color, BOOTS, and other wonderful things come in the fall. It's also my favorite time of year to take pictures. The colors and lighting are just perfect for beautiful photographs, whether it's of people or landscapes.

We took a little drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway one Sunday to see the changing leaves and had to take some photos along the way.

(I hate that these are so heavily watermarked, but I'm aware of some photo snatchers out there.)

Hubby knows how important the "perfect picture spot" is to me, so when we both saw this bridge off the side of the road...he immediately hit the brakes and pulled over! That's why I love him.

I used some actions from The Coffee Shop Blog to add a little more glow to the pictures, as well as a few neat little edits. Their actions are incredibly easy to use and give a beautiful result.

Daddy-Daughter love. Need I say more???

My little minions were on their best behavior during picture taking, which made me sooooo happy!

I'll take goofy faces any day. These pictures best capture their personalities, so they can't all be smiling and posed.

Being able to sneak in just a few pictures each season is really a blessing. You see just how fast your little family grows up when you're flipping through albums.

Big Boy Birthday

Last week, my adorable husband turned 30. I asked if he wanted a date night, a small gathering, a party, or just to forget about it. Surprisingly, he wanted a party!

The party planner in me was thrilled, but what do you do for a 30th birthday?? We planned the party for the afternoon of a Clemson home game and invited friends and family over to watch the game and eat. It was a beautiful day, so we ended the night with a bon-fire as well.

Decorating for a 30th isn't easy, but we stuck to the number 30, and the colors blue, orange, and gray.

A little photo collage as the number "30" showed of my favorite photos of Hubby. He's changed a lot in the last 10 years!

Some little streamer/banners added a pop of color as well.

I used my silhouette to cut out circles of the three colors, then just sewed them together!

I didn't want it to look like the cake was on fire, so we settled for three candles instead of 30.

He had help from his favorite little girl to blow out his candles!

He said it was the perfect birthday. All of his friends and family were there, the Tigers won, and the food was great.

I hope he has many more, even happier birthdays for us to share together!

Do you hand out little bags of candy on Halloween?? Or do you let kids have a free-for-all in your candy bowl? If you're a bagger, then you'll love these FREE bag tags!

Happy Birthday!

This guy doesn't want to admit it...but he's 30 today!!

That now means we've been together for 1/3 of his life...yikes! He is the best husband and daddy to our little family, and sets a wonderful example for our children to follow.

This is the look he gives me...most of the time. He puts up with a lot.

We're a little nuts, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We have some good times together and I look forward to many more!

Happy Birthday Hubby! We LOVE You!!

Mesh Wreath Update

You know, sometimes you can absolutely LOVE a project, but after staring at it for a while, you want to make some changes.

I have always loved our Clemson Mesh Wreath (Tutorial Here)

But after it hanging on our door for a while, I decided it needed to be a little fuller.

A friend gave me a roll of purple burlap ribbon that she didn't know what to do with. TaaaDaaa!! I knew exactly what my wreath needed now.

The burlap added just enough volume to the wreath to make it appear much fuller, while still providing the pops of purple I love.

Add the burlap just as you would add the deco mesh. Just alternate your poofs, and tie them off with floral wire. Easy and fast!

I love a good update to an old favorite.

How about you??

The Abigail Tunic

One of my favorite patterns is the Abigail Tunic. It's an easy fitting top, with long sleeves and plenty of length.

Better yet, it's easy to SEW!

Goldilocks needed a new fall addition to her Abigail collection. A pumpkin...and a monogram. Perfect.

She loves that it's long enough to wear with just leggings.

Add a few to your little one's fall wardrobe! Click HERE for the pattern.

Wallpaper Love with Graham & Brown

I recently received a fun package from Graham and Brown. It was a roll of absolutely beautiful wallpaper, that they wanted me to use for something in my home.

I thought about wallpapering the back of my desk hutch, making a photo backdrop for the kids' Halloween pictures, and other things. But in the end, as I stared at the paper, it was just too pretty to do a "project" with and forget about. I wanted it to be front and center.

So I cut a section and framed it!! It is now artwork. And this paper truly is beautiful enough to be called ART.

I used the pattern "Mirage Charcoal" which was a beautiful slate gray with almost spooky trees. Perfect for the month of October. I took the back out of my frame, and inserted the paper, just as you would a picture.

Once I hung it on my wall I could NOT believe how well the grays in the picture matched my paint color! This makes the picture even more beautiful, as it looks like the trees are floating in the frame.
(paint color is Coventry Gray by Benjamin Moore.)

The spookiness of the trees, with the distressed wood of my frame makes for a beautiful piece of art, perfect for the Halloween season. But I'm sure it will be up much longer.

Visit Graham and Brown to see all of the beautiful wallpapers they offer! The prints are bold, saturated with color, and sure to make any room look "WOW".

Not up for doing a whole room? Try an accent wall, or go smaller...frame that beautiful paper.
