I Made This #7

Welcome to {I Made This}
at Grits & Giggles!!

I MADE THIS

I'm so glad you're here.

We had some amazing projects linked up last week, and I can't wait to see what YOU have been up to this week.

Here are some of my favorites from our last party....
All of these are now on my To-Do list.

This ruffled table runner is so completely adorable, and cheap to make!

I can't get enough of the crayon art.  I know some teachers who would LOVE this in their rooms.

Maxi skirts are so comfortable. I need a few more in my wardrobe.

And we had TWO most clicked links last week...

The "Fashion Star" dress turned out great! I love the shorter length.

I should not look at this picture while hungry. This cake looks absolutely amazing!

Happy Anniversary

4 Years ago I married the love of my life. He has given me so many blessings and I am thankful for all of them. Most of all, I'm thankful that he gave me a blue-eyed beauty that calls me "Mama".

He works hard to provide for us, both at work and at home. I don't know very many little girls who get their Daddy all to themselves during the week, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Ya'll know I love a good flashback and trip down memory lane....
shall we??

Here are some of my favorite wedding photos...

(All photos by Peterson Photography)

My "Something Old"....more on these later!

I loved my dress. All of the pick-ups and gathers made it so full and poofy!

I. Love. My. Bridesmaids!!

My Maid of Honor stealing a kiss before the wedding...

Are we related?? Are we? I love Granny and Mama.

Our new family.

The orchids in my bouquet were a last minute change, and it turned out amazing!

We're not dancers, so after our first one...we were done.

I love the way he smiles at me...

Orange and Lime green. Soooo pretty!

We partied hard with our apple cider. No champagne for us!!

My "sisters" came for a visit! So glad they could make it.

Baby Brother!! Love him.

Adam and Kaileigh. Looking gorgeous as always.

Our "next to be married" friends!

We've all been friends for so long!!

My very happy parents. LOVE them!

Birdseed in the ear. Not fun. I'm still finding seed in that dress!

Four years down....a lifetime to go....

Scrapbuster Pillow

Every now and then I take a look in my scrap  bin of fabric and think that I should be doing something with all of those tiny, neglected pieces. Most of them are from dresses, tops and skirts that I've made for Gray, so there are beautiful colors and patterns.

Last week I sat down and started randomly cutting the pieces into strips, then sewing 4 of 5 together to form kind of a square. Then I took a 5" square and cut them down to the same size. After flipping them around in a few different patterns, I decided on a simple patchwork pillow for Gray's bed. I LOVE how it turned out!

All of the random matchings of fabrics, patterns, and colors are beautiful and I'm reminded of her clothes when I look at it.

The pillow took no time to make, so I'll definitely be making a sort-of matching one later so she'll have a couple. It looks so sweet and girly in her bed too.

I used a simple pink and white polka dot fabric for the back. Gray loves it because it's PINK! I hate pink...but she loves it, so I'll indulge her.

Sometimes sitting down and sewing with no real project in mind is really soothing and fun.
And it's great to see what comes out of it!

The Kaileigh Dress Pattern is Here!

The long-awaited Kaileigh Dress sewing pattern is here!

I have enjoyed making this dress many times already and have loved putting the pattern together for YOU. The dress is totally reversible, making it truly 2 dresses in 1. This is an easy-to-sew pattern, only requiring two pattern pieces and a straight stitch on your machine!

The pattern is available in sizes 6 month- 4T. The knotted shoulder ties make it a very adjustable dress that will fit your little girl season to season if they are between sizes. The length is modest, hitting below the knee.

A big {Thank You} to Alicia at The Creative Vault for testing this pattern for me.
She does a great job and takes wonderful pictures!

I've been able to make several of these little dresses for Gray, and for others. Her birthday dress is in the making right now using this pattern!

I recently made one for my friend's 5 month old little girl! I loved making it in a tinier size, and she gave me free-liberties with embellishments, so I HAD to add some little pockets.

The possiblities for embellishing this dress are truly endless. If you can't do it on one side...flip it over and embellish the other! Two totally unique dresses in one.

If Gray's whole wardrobe could be seersucker, it probably would be. She has worn this dress a LOT this year already.

Hop on over to the SHOP and pick up yours today. Only $6.50, for 6 sizes!!
